Fish health specialist joins Novartis Aqua Norway
Novartis Aqua Norway has strengthened its team by hiring fish health specialist Asmund Baklien as the company's National Account Manager.
For as long as four decades, Baklien, both a Master of Marine Biology and an MBA, has worked in leading fish health positions on several continents, both in global companies and with the Norwegian authorities. In his last appointment, he worked with Pharmaq as Director Latin America.
Baklien was Project Director for the building of a new production unit for fish vaccines in Overhalla, the head of the R&D-site and broodstock station Svanøy Foundation, and a university researcher and lecturer in aquaculture. He has also joined the board of several fish farming companies, notably AquaChile, one of the world's largest producers.
The addition of Baklien will strengthen the Novartis team, and better position the company in finding solutions on future fish health problems within the aquaculture industry.
