Egypt GASC confirms tender for 55,000-60,000 tonnes wheat

Egypt's General Authority For Supply Commodities, or GASC, confirmed Friday it is tendering to buy 55,000-60,000 tonnes of wheat for shipment Mar 21 to Mar 31.

GASC is looking to purchase US hard red winter wheat, US soft red wheat, US soft white wheat, Australian soft white wheat, Australian hard wheat, French milling wheat, Canadian soft wheat, UK milling wheat and 30,000-60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat, GASC told Dow Jones Newswires.

The deadline for bids is 1100 GMT Friday.

GASC last bought wheat Feb 11 when it purchased 180,000 tonnes of Australian standard white wheat at US$131 a tonne from the Australian Wheat Board and 60,000 tonnes of French milling wheat from Lecurer at US$134.89 a tonne.
