Revenues of US$19.87 million have been raked in by Minh Phu Seafood Corporation (MPC), from abroad shipment in January, jumping 100.8% from a year earlier.

The company exported 1,612 tonnes of shrimp during the period, up 96.98% on year, the newspaper reported February 22.

Japan was the largest importer of MPC's shrimp, with an import value of US$6.093 million accounting for 30.5% of the market share, followed by the US with US$6 million, Canada with US$2.55 million, South Korea with US$2 million and EU with US$1.1 million.

This year, MPC targets US$550 million from shrimp exports, rising 60% on year.

MPC raked in US$334.39 million from shipping abroad over 27,178 tonnes of shrimp in 2010, up 35% on value and 17.6% in volume from 2010.
