Russia unable to stop spread of ASF

 

 

Russia is currently battling the African Swine Fever (ASF) with and the spread is unstoppable as the disease is growing at a rate of 350 kilometres a year, according to reports.

 

Russia's agricultural products safety service, Rosselkhoznadzor, has stated that preventive measures are currently being carried out, however, and there seems no be no handle on the control of the expansion of ASF as there is no vaccine for the disease.

 

Recent outbreaks were reported to be in the Russia's Rostov region on February 10 and in the Nizhny Novgorod region February 18.
