Philippines sees 3.9% drop in rice inventory during Jan 2012

Rice inventories in the Philippines have dropped by 3.9% in January from the same period of 2012.

The Bureau of Agricultural Statistics, an attached agency of the Department of Agriculture, said in a report that the rice stock as of January 1 this year reached 2.52 million tonnes - lower than last year's record of 2.62 million tonnes.

Compared to the previous month's 2.61 million tonnes, the stock in January was also lower by 3.4%.
