Unitrade Egypt Company was appointed by Ufac-UK as new distributor for their dairy and poultry supplements for the whole of Egypt.

This was marked by a product launch, attended by 60 farmers, owners and managers in Cairo.

Unitrade, a specialist feed and medicines marketing company, based at Tanta, has a highly-qualified sales team of 10 veterinary surgeons who will provide on-farm advice on the use of energy supplements.

Egypt has the second-largest economy in the Arab world and is heavily dependent upon agriculture which is important in feeding its rapidly growing population of over 82 million. The country's 500,000 dairy cows make a significant contribution. Dairy farming has developed on the American model with large, intensively house herds being fed complete diets. The majority of the raw materials are imported.

"Britain has a good reputation and the Unitrade Egypt team were looking for a better product to improve fertility, production and butterfat levels which can be a problem in high-yielding cows under an intensive system coupled with high temperatures.
