Azerbaijan's 2012 grain yield to hit 2.7 million tonnes

The volume of Azerbaijan's agricultural output in January 2012 totalled AZN177.7 million (US$226.14 million), 2.9% higher than the results in January 2011, stated the State Committee on Statistics of Azerbaijan.

According to the State Committee, in the reporting month the growth of plant growing production totalled 5.7%.

According to the primary information, in 2012 agrarians will harvest grains throughout 956,400 ha of sowing areas, including 689,100 ha of wheat, 267,300 ha of barley.

According to forecasts, in 2012 the grain harvest will total 2.7 million tonnes.
