Ukrainian firms' January agricultural volume output increase 13.3%
High growth rates in Ukraine's agriculture were ensured exclusively due to activities of agricultural firms, whose production volumes increased by 13.3%, stated a review of the country's Economic Development and Trade Ministry.
According to the January 2011 review entitled Results of Agriculture Work, household economies reduced production by 1.9% in January.
In cattle breeding, a growth of all types of meat production was observed (for slaughter) by 5.3% and eggs - by 22.9%, primarily at the expense of the continued growth of pig heads by 3.8% and poultry - by 5.8%.
Volumes of meat production (in live weight) and eggs at agricultural economies grew by 15.3% and 29.8% respectively.
As of February 1, 2011, against the same date of the previous year in all categories of economies cattle livestock reduced by 6.3% (tо 4.59 million heads) that had an impact on reduction of milk production by 1.9% (by results of January 2011).
