India mills may import up to 250,000 tonnes of wheat
Indian millers are likely to import 200,000-250,000 tonnes of wheat in 2010-11, a trader said Friday (Feb 19).
Mills in the south have already imported about 90,000 tonnes of wheat in 2009-10 so far, said the executive with an international trading firm, who did not want to be named.
Indian mills have imported wheat at US$280-US$300/tonne, mostly from Australia, the executive said on the sidelines of a conference.
