New swine diet to reduce feed costs
Starter feed specialist Primary Diets has released a new range of low-cost pig diets in light of the feed cost struggles UK pig producers are facing.
The new diets, which are based on the latest protein and energy sources, is nutritious while reducing reliance on milk products.
Working in conjunction with the University of Leeds, the company has tested the new range in commercial farms with positive results.
Company spokesman Paul Toplis said the trials have revealed the close interaction between farm environment, piglet health and product. He added that it is crucial for producers to ensure that the diets meet the needs of their units, from maximum performance to best cost per pig to find the correct starter feed programme.
This new TOPSPEC range looks to relieve pig producers who are having trouble due to soaring feed costs.
