Thailand's egg prices improve

In order to ease the on-going oversupply situation in the country, the Thai Commerce Ministry has ordered the Department of Livestock Development (DLD) to monitor the import of layer PS this year.

Yukol Limlaemthong, Commerce Minister, said the price of eggs has improved to THB2.80 (US$0.0937) while the production cost stands at THB2.71 (US$0.0904). To ease the situation, the DLD plans to control the import of layer PS at around 504,483 birds, down from 712,610 birds or 20% lower than last year.
