Russia's poultry exports to double in 2012

Andrei Teryokhin, president of the Association of Russian Poultry Market Operators, said late Thursday (Feb 16) that the country's poultry exports may increase 60%, or even double in 2012 to around 80,000–100,000 tonnes.

He said citing the association's preliminary data that exports ranged 48,000-50,000 tonnes in 2011 with almost 30,000 tonnes going to Kazakhstan, the biggest market for Russian poultry.

In 2012, poultry exports to Kazakhstan are expected to amount to 50,000-60,000 tonnes, Teryokhin said.

Russia also supplies poultry to China, Vietnam, and other CIS states, Teryokhin added.
