ConAgra optimistic on Q2 and Q3 earnings
ConAgra forecast its earnings for the second half of 2008 while also expecting positive earnings for the third quarter.
The Nebraska-based processor predicted earnings per share for the second half of 2008 in the range of 70 cents, delivering higher earnings per share in the third quarter compared to fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, ConAgra also announced its confidence in its fiscal third quarter, citing that strong performances from its trading and merchandising segments would bring in profits that exceed initial expectations.
Higher prices on several brands, which will be effective in late March, will have a positive impact in both quarters, according to ConAgra.
