Chicken Demand in Malaysia Back To Normal

Chicken demand in Malaysia is seen recovering from a recent 30% dip back to normal condition, Agriculture Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said on Friday.

He said the findings clearly indicated that public confidence had returned and was sure that demand for poultry products would continue to improve daily.

Muhyiddin said there should not have been any cause for alarm in the first place as the country was free from bird flu.

"We are taking all precautionary measures to ensure the country's billion-ringgit poultry industry is not affected, " he told reporters after meeting village chiefs and community leaders at the Sri Pekembar Umno building in Pagoh.
