Belarus' January farm output rises 6.1% on-year

 

 

Belarus' farm output grew 6.1% on-year in January 2011 to BYR1.539 trillion (US$509.43 million), a source in the National Statistics Committee stated Thursday (Feb 17).

 

Sales of fattened cattle and poultry rose 6.2% on the year in January to 129,900 tonnes, milk output rose 4.4% to 464,400 tonnes, and egg output went up 7.9% to 288.5 million units.

 

Return on sales of Belarus' agribusiness reached 5.3% in 2010, up from minus 0.2% in 2009, and sales margin reached 4.2%, up from minus 0.2%

 

Net profit of agricultural companies amounted to BYR1.871 trillion (US$619.33 million) in January-December 2010, up 54.8% on-year.

 

In January-December 2010, farms' net loss reached BYR39.7 billion (US$13.14 million), down 11.6% on-year.

 

Overdue payables of Belarus' agriculture were at BYR2.233 trillion (US$739.16 million) as of January 1, 2011, 18.3% of all payables.
