Egypt's state-owned General Authority for Supply Commodities, or GASC, said Wednesday (Feb 17) it was tendering to buy up to 120,000 tonnes of wheat on a free-on-board basis.

GASC is looking to buy 55,000-60,000 tonnes of US soft red wheat, US soft white wheat, US hard red wheat and Canadian wheat, Nomani Nomani, the undersecretary of the GASC vice chairman said.

GASC also is looking for 60,000 tonnes of Australian, German, Argentine, Kazakh, Russian or French wheat, Nomani said.

GASC is looking to buy the wheat for shipment May 1-15 on an FOB basis and will look at freight offers presented during the tender separately.
