Ukraine looks forward to Japanese cooperation for grain storage

Ukraine is interested in cooperating with Japan's Mitsui Corporation in building grain storage facilities exclusively for small-scale farming, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said.

The Prime Minister made the offer on Friday (Feb 13) during her meeting with Mitsui's representatives in Kyiv, the cabinet press service said.

Tymoshenko said Ukraine has large grain harvests but suffers from storage problems, particularly in small-scale farming.

The companies can cooperate and follow the process of harvesting, storing and exporting the grain, said Tymoshenko, adding that the grain storage facilities will boost the accessibility of the grain market for an extended period of time.
