Russia's January poultry production up 16.6%

The federal statistics service reported late Wednesday (Feb 15) that Russia produced 262,000 tonnes of poultry in January, up 16.6% as compared to the same period of last year.

However, the amount of poultry produced in January was 7.6% less than in December 2011.

In 2011 Russia produced 2.98 million tonnes of poultry, 8.5% more than in 2010.
