French poultry firm Duc sees 10% rise in Q4 sales

French poultry firm Duc announced Tuesday (Feb 14) that its turnover for Q4 2011 grew 10.12% to EUR45.25 million (US$59.88 million), helped by higher retail prices for its chicken products.

For 2011, its turnover stands at EUR180.7 million (US$239 million), a 12.37% increase on-year.

Duc said its chicken sales, which account for over 60.11% of its total sales in Q4, continued to benefit from the positive dynamic of late 2010 all through 2011.

For 2012, Duc intends to strengthen its leading position in non-GMO certified products and will pursue its focus on product innovation.

"In a challenging market marked by consolidation, Duc aims to position itself sustainably as a serious competitor to the larger industrial groups," the company said.
