Ukrainian 2011 grain stocks 6% lower against on-year
The grain stocks at Ukraine's agricultural enterprises (except small ones) and enterprises engaged in its storage and processing totalled 14.2 million tonnes as of February 1, 2011, up by 6% against on-year.
According to the State Statistics Service, wheat stocks at these companies by the said date amounted to 6.2 million tonnes, barley 1.8 million tonnes, corn 5.3 million tonnes, rye 0.3 million tonnes.
Directly at agricultural enterprises, grain stocks by February 1 totalled 6.6 million tonnes (10% lower than last year), including wheat-2.7 million tonnes, barley-one million tonnes, corn-2.1 million tonnes and rye-0.1 million tonnes.
Domestic consumption of grain in Ukraine is estimated at 26 million tonnes per year.
