Ukraine grain supplies down 20% on-year
Grain supplies in Ukraine on February 1 totalled 15.1 million tonnes, 20% less than on February 1, 2009, the state statistics committee reported.
The grain supplies included 6.6 million tonnes of wheat and 3.2 million tonnes of corn.
Farmers held on the date 7.3 million tonnes of grain, 25% less than a year ago, including 2.7 million tonnes of wheat and 1.5 million tonnes of corn.
The remaining grain was held by grain storage and processing enterprises.
