Ukraine's food production on the decline in January
Ukraine's milk output for January 2016 - excluding the Russian-occupied territory of Crimea and Sevastopol - had dropped by 2% compared to the same period last year, to 578,000 tonnes, the Interfax-Ukraine News Agency reported.
The country's meat production (live weight) was 287,200 tonnes, 2.3% lesser than the volume in January 2015, according to the State Statistics Service.
Output for egg declined 20.8%, to 1.051 billion pieces.
Last year, Ukraine cut down meat output by 1.4%, to 3.277 million tonnes, milk by 4%, to 10.682 million tonnes, and eggs by 14.3%, to 16.78 billion pieces.
