Egypt buys 136,640 tonnes Ukrainian soy

 

 

Egypt's imports of Ukrainian soy during the 2010/11 MY amounted to 136,640 tonnes, according to official sources.

 

In the season-2011/12 the trend still stayed active. Moreover, during September 2011 - January 2012 supplies of the oilseed to the country increased to to the level of 76,680 tonnes against 51,530 tonnes during the same period in the previous year.

 

The increase of selling rates is caused by activation of the oilseed processing processes on the domestic market of Egypt. November-May period became the main export months for Ukrainian soy in Egypt.

 

According to the forecast of experts of Oil World, soy exports from Ukraine on the world market in 2011/12 MY (October-September) will increase to the level of 1.24 million tonnes against 0.98 million tonnes in the previous year.

 

Egyptian inspection and investment companies are interested in the Ukrainian market of soy and expressed their willingness to participate in the international conference "Ukrainian soybean market - 2012", to be held on May 16-18, 2012, in Yalta.
