Australian Grain Marketing changes name, appoints new chairman

National Agricultural Commodities Marketing Association, which will change its name to Grain Trade Australia March 1, announced the appointment of Tom Keene as chairman. He was formerly Managing Director at GrainCorp Ltd.

Nacma, formed in 1991 to standardize the grain trade's standards, rules and contracts, now has more than 300 member organizations and "an enviable record in developing processes to facilitate efficient and effective grain trading," Keene said in a statement.

The change of name to Grain Trade Australia reflects the organization's role in the industry's new operating environment, with more than 90 percent of grain contracts executed in Australia referring to Nacma's standards or rules, he added.
