Vietnam reports four bird flu outbreaks

Four highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreaks in Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong, Kien Giang and Bac Giang have been reported by the Vietnamese veterinary authorities.

The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no. 62 on Monday, February 13.

Out of 13,041 susceptible birds, 1,720 cases were reported. A total of 1,410 deaths occurred and 8,031 birds were destroyed.

The source of the outbreak has not yet been identified.
