US storms impact pork processors
Nasty winter storms in the Midwestern part of the US have been forcing pork processors there to cut production.
A winter storm could force a number of pork plants in the Midwestern part of the US to cut slaughter operations, according to a report by the Dow Jones Newswire.
The hardest-hit areas in terms of affecting livestock movement and transportation in general are from south-eastern Iowa across central Illinois and Indiana, industry members told Dow Jones.
Tyson Foods's pork plant in Logansport, Indiana, according to the report, did not operate its night shift one day.
