Lithuania's January average milk purchase price down 0.8%
The Agriculture Ministry of Lithuania reported Monday (Feb 13) that the country's average natural milk purchase price in January reached LTL1,030.9 (US$393.03) per tonne, down 0.8% from December and up 2.3% from January 2011.
The total volume of natural milk purchased from farmers last month rose by 8% from a year ago, to 96,560 tonnes, it said.
In January, the average milk purchase prices ranged from LTL1,059.7 (US$404.04) per tonne paid by Pieno Zvaigzdes to LTL962.5 (US$366.97) per tonne paid by Vilkyskiu Pienine.
