CRG accepting offers for former Sara Lee hog processing plant

CRG Acquisition, which has recently acquired the Mississippi-based plant, said it is now accepting offers for the entire facility.

The 800,000 square feet facility used to slaughter and process nearly 10,000 animals per week, but Sara Lee  closed it in March 2007 after unsuccessful sale attempts.

CRG said while the equipment will most likely be auctioned, offers for the entire facility plus real state or various components will be accepted. The company is also looking to offload the refrigeration complex that was added to the facility in 2002.

CRG has hired a joint venture to sell the equipment and remarket the estate.
