China's Guangdong province tops in feed production for the fourth year

Even as the general feed industry remained in the doldrums last year, southern Guangdong province achieved a 4 percent growth in feed production, reaching 13 million tonnes, according to Guangdong's Agricultural Department.

Last year, Guangdong became the country's top province for feed production for the fourth consecutive year, with the worth of total production at RMB 31 billion (US$4 billion). As the industry develops, a clutch of companies has emerged as the leader in Chinese feed production. Currently, four of the top ten feed companies in China are from Guangdong, far more than other provinces.
