Cermaq merger with Aqua Chile falls through

Norwegian fish farming group Cermaq has announced talks with Chilean company Empresas Aqua Chile have collapsed.

Partly owned by the Norwegian state, Cermaq is the world's second-largest fish feed producer and among the biggest farmers of salmon and trout.

The discussions between Cermaq ASA and the owners of Empresas Aqua Chile S.A. about a possible transaction have been ended without results," Cermaq said in a statement, which provided no details or explanation.
