Weak pre-festive demand holds China methionine prices stagnant
Prices of methionine were unchanged during the week ending February 9.
Trade dwindled during the period in review as feed millers have stockpiled sufficient stocks. Meanwhile, as supplies from a foreign producer were limited, methionine dealers were cautious in negotiating prices.
Price quotes of imported dl-methionine stayed in the range of RMB29.60-30.20/kg.
Methionine prices will likely remain at current levels in the coming weeks due to slow trade as China celebrates the most important festival of the year.
