China posts 27.6% agricultural imports, exports increase

 

 

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the value of China's agricultural products imports and exports amounted to US$155.62 billion in 2011, soaring 27.6% against the preceding year.

 

The export value amounted to US$60.75 billion last year, up 23% on-year, and the import value climbed 30.8% to US$94.87 billion.

 

The farm produce trade deficit reached US$34.12 billion, expanding 47.4% from a year earlier.

 

Farm produce mainly includes grain, cotton, sugar, oilseeds, distillers dried grains with soluble (DDGS), vegetables, fruits, livestock products and aquatic products.
