South Africa's 2008-09 wheat yield revised to 1.979 million tonnes
South Africa delivered 12,000 tonnes of wheat to commercial structures in the week ending Feb. 6, compared with 14,000 tonnes the previous week, the South African Grain Information Service's s weekly harvest report showed Thursday (February 12).
The delivery brings the total yield since October this year, the beginning of the new season, to 1.979 million tonnes after a downward adjustment of 39,000 tonnes.
South Africa is forecast to produce 2.080 million tonnes of wheat this season, as reported by the Crop Estimates Committee.
