Danish Crown opens new case-ready plant in Sweden
Denmark's Danish Crown has opened a new case-ready meat production facility in Jonkoping, Sweden, on Tuesday (Feb 10).
The facility will supply a variety of case-ready meat to Swedish retail chain Axfood. The facility is the most modern case-ready production plant in Sweden, said Danish Crown.
The facility will also pack most of the meat distributed and sold in Swedish shops Willys and Hemkop in the future.
Axfood will see new and different meat cuts, sausage products, and also seasonal adjusted meat products, said Torbjorn Lithell, meat product manager for the retail chain.
Danish Crown is Europe's largest meat processing and livestock slaughter company, operating several other case-ready production facilities in Europe.
