FMD detected in Shanghai
The foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) has been discovered in China's Shanghai, the Ministry of Agriculture said Wednesday (Feb 11).
About 41 dairy cows were found to have developed the symptom of FMD in the Wusi cattle farm in Fengxian district at Shanghai's outskirts on February 3.
The disease was confirmed by the national laboratory on Wednesday.
Emergency measures were taken and about 440 cows in the farm were culled.
No outbreak of the disease has been discovered outside the farm yet.
