China confident to see good harvest despite drought
China's government is confident that it will see a good harvest from winter crops this year despite an ongoing drought, Vice Agriculture Minister Wei Chaoan said Thursday (February 12).
Irrigation and other methods have been used to minimize the possible losses, and rainfall in drought areas starting today will also help, he said.
However, he added that it's too early to forecast the final wheat output for the coming harvest.
