China January corn exports sharply up on-year to 940,000 tonnes
 

 

China's January corn exports more than doubled from a year earlier to 940,000 tonnes, according to preliminary data issued by the General Administration of Customs Monday.

 

Sugar exports slumped 68.2 percent to 10,286 tonnes in January, it said.

 

China imported 1.365 million tonnes of sugar in 2006 and exported 154,389 tonnes.

 

It exported 3.07 million tonnes of corn last year, down 64 percent from 2005.
