"Those species of fish that come from Vietnam are in demand on the Ukrainian market. At the same time, in recent years, the fish supply has decreased due to a number of violations, revealed by the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine. In particular, 12 of these cases have been revealed last year," a statement reads.
As Chairman of the State Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of Ukraine Volodymyr Gorzheyev noted, the agency could not but reacted to this situation and banned deliveries to two enterprises. "I emphasise that this is a working moment that needs improvement. It is necessary to carry out additional examinations of these and other enterprises and to develop understanding," he said.
On the initiative of Agrarian Policy Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk, a working group was set up, which will visit Vietnam in March to further study the problem issues and to resolve them.
Ho Dac Minh Nguyet supported the proposal and expressed conviction that it is necessary to find a new mechanism of cooperation that would enhance cooperation and increase the trade volume between the countries.
Over 2012, bilateral trade in agricultural products grew by US$30.3 million to US$98.9 million.
