Turkey's 2010 red meat output reaches over 780,000 tonnes
Turkey produced 780,718 tonnes of red meat in 2010 amid an on-month decline in December, the Turkish Statistical Institute said Thursday (Feb 10).
In December, red meat production in Turkey amounted to 53,847 tonnes, a 66.7% decline from November, the month Turkey celebrated the Feast of Sacrifice, the Institute said.
Altogether 44,818 tonnes of meat were produced from cattle in December, 318 tonnes from buffaloes, 7,259 tonnes from sheep and 1,452 tonnes from goats, according to the institute.
