Massive Anhui poultry processing plant commences operations
A large chicken meat processing plant was put into production in Feidong County, central China's Anhui province, boosting the development of husbandry and agricultural byproducts processing industry.
The plant's food processing assembly line occupies an area of 310 mu, carrying an investment of RMB300 million (US$43.9 million).
The investment for the first phase project reached RMB200 million (US$29.3 million) and three most advanced automatic chicken slaughter lines and affiliated processing equipment were introduced, enabling the factory to slaughter 220 million chickens and produce 250,000 tonnes of frozen chicken annually. This registers an annual output value of RMB3 billion (US$439.16 million).
The total amount of investment for the second phase project will stand at RMB100 million (US$14.64 million). Upon completion, the annual output value is expected to hit RMB10 billion (US$1.46 billion), ranking the top in the world.
