Aker BioMarine to supply feed ingredient to China's Coland

Aker BioMarine will supply Coland, a major Chinese aquatic feed and feed ingredient company, with its high-value feed ingredient, Qrill in 2010.

Both companies are looking to further develop the Qrill market in China.

After receiving an import licence for China in late 2009, Aker BioMarine has worked to develop a demand for Qrill into the Chinese market. China is an important market for Aker BioMarine as the country accounts for 70% of the world's aquaculture production, said Hallvard Muri, CEO of Aker BioMarine.

Coland Feed, one of the top 30 feed enterprises in China, is involved in the production and distribution of aquatic feed of all kinds.

Oslo-based Aker BioMarine is a harvester of krill and manufacturer of krill oil product Superba Krill.
