China January soy imports at 3.03 million tonnes; down 12 percent on-year
China's soy imports in January totalled 3.03 million tonnes, down 12 percent on year, according to preliminary data issued by the General Administration of Customs Wednesday (February 11).
In December, imports rose 13 percent, while in January 2008, they rose 41 percent to 3.44 million tonnes. Imports rose sharply a year ago due to a poor soy harvest in 2007.
