Danish Pigmeat Market To Pick Up
Danish pigmeat prices are expected to pick up in the coming weeks from historical lows, following the bird flu outbreak spreading across Asian regions and the United States, an industry leader said on Monday.
The turn-around in the Danish pig market, initially expected for the second half of this year, will now come within weeks.
On Monday, Danish best-weight-class slaughter pigs fetched 7.30 Danish crowns ($1.25) per kilo, up from a five-year low of 7.10 crowns by the end of last year. This is forecast to slowly rise towards 8-9 crowns per kilo.
