Global markets
 
FOB prices of Peruvian prime-grade fishmeal stayed unchanged at US$1,570/tonne.
 
As of January 26, Peru's fish catch in the northern seas totalled 1.96 million tonnes, fulfilling 98% of the quota.
                                             
 
Market analysis
 
Feed millers gradually resumed operation over the week but maintained low production. Sales of fishmeal were slow, putting a lid on the price.
 
Price quotes for prime-grade products remained in the range of RMB11,600-11,800/tonne.
 
 
Market forecast
 
As more shipments of fishmeal arrive, supplies are expected to be ample. This, in conjunction with slack post-festive demand, will weigh on fishmeal prices in the coming weeks.
