UK's animal feed output falls 3.5%

 

 

During December 2011, the total production of UK's animal feed was reduced by 3.5% against December 2010.

  

According to GB Animal Feed Statistical Notice for December 2011, the total raw material usage in the retail production of animal feed in December 2011 was 2.9% lower compared with the same month the previous year.

 

In December 2011, the total integrated feed production was 6.5% lower compared with December 2010.

 

From July to September 2011, the quarterly average feed prices for cattle and calves was GBP222 (US$352.47) per tonne, pigs was GBP256 (US$406.45) per tonne, poultry was GBP278 (US$441.38) per tonne and for sheep was GBP217 (US$344.53) per tonne.
