Global grain output to reach above two billion tonnes

The global grain production for the 2010/11 crop year will total to 2.179 billion tonnes, down from a previous estimate of 2.182 billion tonnes, USDA said Wednesday (Feb 9).

World production for 2010/11 would include 645.41 million tonnes of wheat, 1,081.47 million of coarse (feed) grains and 451.65 million of rice.

Oilseeds were estimated at 441.78 million tonnes.
