Iran inaugurates new mega poultry slaughterhouse
The fourth largest industrial slaughterhouse for poultry in the world and the largest in the Middle East was inaugurated by the Iranian Minister of Agricultural on Monday (Feb 8).
About EUR5.5 billion (US$7.57 billion) and IRR40 billion (US$4.04 million) were reportedly earmarked for the project.
The private sector financed 70% of the project, which will create 6,000 jobs indirectly and employ 1,000 people directly.
The plant has state-of-the-art technology and a capacity to slaughter 10,000 birds per hour.
