Armenia bans poultry imports from China

The State Service for Food Safety (SSFS) of Armenia has temporarily banned poultry imports from China due to avian influenza cases being recorded in the country.

The ban includes the import of live poultry, eggs, hatching eggs, poultry products, poultry feed and all eggs packaging plastics box and paper tray.

It should be noted that Armenia is not a major importer of Chinese poultry products. In fact, Armenia had only imported a total of 128 tonnes of Chinese poultry products from January to September last year, which accounted for a mere 0.6% of its total imports.
