China's January soy imports hit 4.85 million tonnes
According to the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) on February 8, China's actual port volume of imported soy reached 4.8559 million tonnes in January, lower than the estimated 5.2933 million tonnes in mid-January.
The MOC stated that actual port volume of imported soy was expected to reach 3.7117 million tonnes in February, higher than 2.6685 million tonnes expected previously.
On February 10, the General Administration of Customs will publicise the data concerning major products exported or imported in the first batch, including the volume of soy imported in January. Specific data concerning the import of oil products in January will be announced later this month.
The MOC further indicated that actual port volume of soy imported in January stood at 304,300 tonnes, the figure may hit 60,400 tonnes in February. Actual port volume of imported palm oil amounted to 390,700 tonnes in January and was estimated to reach 382,200 tonnes in February; actual port volume of rapeseed oil imported in January came at 96,200 tonnes, the figure may hit 55,200 in February.
