Poultry Products International to build poultry plant in Idaho
Poultry Products International plans to build an US$2.75-million chicken processing plant near Interstate 84, said Doug Manning economic director for the south-central Idaho town of Burley.
Doug Manning also said that the project includes a hatchery and other facilities at more remote locations that have not yet been named. Negotiations are still being held and it's unclear when construction might start, but it could be as soon as this year.
Officials confirmed that Poultry Products International has already purchased 112 acres south of Interstate 84.
Officials estimate the project could create 1,000 construction jobs over two years and as many permanent jobs when construction is finished.
